Shiney Ahuja is an Indian actor in Bollywood films. Ahuja started her career as a model and then started acting.

After graduating from college, Shiney landed his first Pepsi commercial. This immediately made him a candidate for the best advertising agency. Ahuja received a lot of advertising offers and worked in more than 40 ads that year, including those for Citibank and Cadbury. He also appeared in the music video “Pyar ho Gaya” by British Asian band “Stereo Nation”.
After Sudhir Mishra saw Shiney’s performance in a Pepsi commercial, he invited Shiney to audition for the role of Sidharth Tyabji in the Kay Kay film Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi. At Shiney’s request, Mishra also arranged for Shiney to audition for the role of Vikram Malhotra. Shiney made her film debut by being cast in the role of Vikram Malhotra, out of more than 200 applicants. After receiving positive reviews, the film went to as many as 12 film festivals within six months.
These included River to River in Florence, River to River in Berlin, Bite The Mango in Bradford, Commonwealth Film Festival in Manchester, Pacific Rim Film Festival and River to River in India (Goa) (California). The film did not receive much publicity in 2005 but made a major national impact in India. Multiple awards for Best Actor (Debut) that year including the Filmfare Zee Cine and Stardust Awards went to Ahuja.
After that, he co-starred in two well-known commercial films Woh Lamhe and Mahesh Bhatt’s Gangster with Kangana Ranaut. The next films were Living in a Metro and Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Ek accident co-starring Soha Ali Khan and Har Pal with Preity Zinta are two of his unreleased films. Shiney co-starred in Anees Bazmee’s Welcome Back 2015 with John Abraham Shruti Hassan Anil Kapoor Nana Patekar Naseeruddin Shah Dimple Kapadia and Paresh Rawal.

Ahuja played the role of Siddharth Chaturvedi, a psychiatrist who is asked to help a family haunted by a ghost. The film was a commercial success and Ahuja’s performance was well received by the audience and critics alike.

In June 2009, Ahuja was detained for allegedly raping, kidnapping and endangering his 19-year-old maid. He was charged with rape and death threats under Sections 376 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code, respectively. His maid (the victim) changed her testimony throughout the trial and told the judge that she had never been sexually assaulted. However, the judge believed that the maid was lying under duress and in 2011 Ahuja was sentenced to seven years in prison.
