Fikile Zungu denied the right to vote

“You told me I was registered… why am I not on the list? I find the Embassy's actions blatantly unfair. It is also personal because the Embassy fired me three and a half years ago. So I feel that I am being personally sabotaged. The Embassy has never made an effort to find out what the problem is.”

IEC replies to Fikile'sFikile's

“Hello, thank you for reporting this issue to us, and we apologize for the bad experience and for being denied the opportunity to vote. Could you please confirm whether you have applied for a VEC10 notification? This form notifies the Commission of your intention to vote overseas. Without this form, overseas voters cannot vote. Please message us directly with your details and confirm your VEC10 so we can review it.”

The meeting between the IEC and the US ambassador to South Africa was nothing unusual.
