Rishi Kapoor Wife

Rishi was a well-known actor when he began dating Neetu who was only 14 at the time. Rishi and Neetu never fell in love at first sight. He would frequently annoy Neetu with his antics but eventually both Rishi and Neetu realized they were made for each other and married on January 22 1980.

When asked what keeps them going strong during their appearance on the first season of Koffee With Karan Rishi responded It has always been Neetu who has made all the attempts I have always been a difficult man. He also stated that when his career began they used to work together and spend most of their time together but they were never attracted to each other at the time and Neetu was more of a friend to him. He used to tell her his stories and experiences and cry on her shoulder whenever he broke up with someone.

Rishi realized he loved Neetu when he flew to Paris to shoot for Barood while Neetu was in Kashmir filming Kabhi Kabhie. He felt lonely away from Neetu and after a few days he realized he was in love with her and telegrammed her ‘Ye Sikhni Badi Yaad aati hai (I truly miss the Sikhni).’ Neetu who was equally in love with him received the telegram and immediately showed it to Yash and Pam Chopra.

After they began dating Rishi told Neetu I’ll only date you; I’ll never marry you. However the pair dated for five years before marrying. Just a few months before the wedding Neetu notified all of her directors and co-stars that she would be leaving the industry soon.

Neetu Kapoor discussed her magnificent wedding with Rishi Kapoor in a 2003 throwback interview with Rediff.com. Neetu had revealed the location of her huge massive Punjabi wedding which took place at the Golf Course in Chembur Mumbai. The whole film industry was invited to one of the year’s most important weddings.
