On November 19 1951 in Bombay Zeenat Khan was given the name Zeenat Aman. Zeenat Aman is the cousin of actor Raza Murad and the niece of actor Murad. She was born to a Muslim father and a Maharashtrian Brahmin mother Vardhini Karvaste.
Her father Amanullah Khan created screenplays for films like Pakeezah and Mughal-e-Azam frequently using the pen name Aman which she adopted. When Zeenat was little her parents divorced.
Her father went away when she was 13 years old.
Zeenat Aman’s husbands were Sanjay Khan (although it is rumoured) and Mazhar Khan who died in 1998. Zeenat Aman’s sons are Zahaan Khan and Azaan Khan.

She finished her education in Panchgani and then went to the University of Southern California in Los Angeles to study student aid. However, she was unable to complete her diploma.
Relationships
Sanjay Khan
On the sets of the 1970 film Abdullah Zeenat Aman and Sanjay Khan initially met and fell in love. Sanjay Khan however was already married to Zarine Khan.
There were rumours that Zeenat and Sanjay wed in 1978 in Jaisalmer during a private ceremony. Sanjay Khan consistently disputed the marriage although Zeenat Aman subsequently acknowledged it in an interview.
Zeenat once went in search of Sanjay Khan after learning that he was attending a party at a hotel. Then Sanjay Khan brought her into a room and beat her. He repeatedly beat her. He claimed she had several affairs. Multiple facial injuries caused Zeenat Aman to be transported to the hospital.
Dev Anand
Zeenat Aman gained notoriety when she was only 20 because of the movie Hare Ram Hare Krishna. Dev Anand who was 48 at the time and was directing the movie fell head over heels for Zeenat Aman. Then he was a married father of two children.
Dev Anand acknowledged his affection for the glitzy diva in his autobiography. He admitted that he was madly in love with her and wished to confess his feelings to her. He chose a spot at the Taj which is located at the top of the city to do so. After a brief encounter at a party this amorous arrangement was arranged.
He observed Raj Kapoor holding Zeenat Aman while intoxicated during the party. Zeenat Aman reciprocated to him which he observed and his heart got broken.
Imran Khan
Imran Khan a Pakistani cricketer and Zeenat Aman had an affair. When Zeenat and Imran first met they clicked off the bat at a party. The two however never made their relationship official. When asked about her relationship with Imran Khan while she was in Lahore Zeenat Aman responded that these were old issues and should be put to rest.
Zeenat Aman’s Husband Mazhar Khan
In the year 1985, Zeenat Aman married Mazhar Khan. At the time Mazhar Khan was not a known actor in India. Though he had contributed to a Hollywood film little was ever said about his efforts.
She never discussed her relationship with Mazhar Khan before the marriage. She stated in an interview that one of the main factors in her decision to marry Mazhar Khan was that she felt ready for parenthood at the time and that her biological clock was ticking.
But she never had smooth sailing. According to a story in the Free Press Journal her spouse Mazhar Khan used to beat her. She wanted love and respect and gave birth to two children but still felt lonely.
The official separation between the two occurred in 1997. She did not grant her ex-family husband custody of her kids. She dispelled rumours that she was seeing a businessman from Mumbai by saying that she had no desire to be married again.
Career
Zeenat Aman competed in the Femina Miss India pageant in 1970 finishing in second place and earning the title of First Princess. At that time Zeenat was only 19 years old. After that she participated in and won the Miss Asia Pacific International competition making history as the first Femina Miss India titleholder to do so. Aman started acting after winning her pageants making her debut with Dev Anand in the movie The Evil Within.

The Evil Within is a 1970 Indo-Filipino drama film with Dev Anand and Zeenat Aman in the lead roles. It was directed by Lamberto V. Avellana.

Hare Rama Hare Krishna (1971)
Hare Rama Hare Krishna is an Indian musical drama film Dev Anand directed in 1971 which also starred Mumtaz and Zeenat Aman. Zeenat Aman who played a Westernised hippie and won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award as well as the BFJA Award for Best Actress became a star thanks to the success of the movie.
The debauchery of the hippie movement was the subject of the film. It attempted to convey a message against drugs while also illustrating certain issues with Westernization like divorce. The 1968 American psychedelic movie Psych-Out had an impact on it.
Satyam Shivam Sundaram (1978)

Ritu Nanda reports Raj Kapoor as saying I visualised the scenario of a man falling for a woman with an average look but a magnificent voice and wanted to cast Lata Mangeshkar in the role. Ritu Nanda says Lata Mangeshkar was the idea behind the film and that he wanted to cast her in the movie. Hema Malini Dimple Kapadia and Vidya Sinha were all given the role before Zeenat Aman was hired in it but they turned it down because of the film’s erotic themes and body exposure. Rajesh Khanna was almost given the movie’s male lead role but Raj Kapoor was ultimately persuaded to cast Shashi Kapoor in his place.
Insaf Ka Tarazu (1980)
Insaf Ka Tarazu is a 1980 Hindi revenge drama film produced and directed by B. R. Chopra. It is a remake of the 1976 drama movie Lipstick. Zeenat Aman Raj Babbar Deepak Parashar Padmini Kolhapure Iftekhar Simi Garewal Shreeram Lagoo and Dharmendra feature in the movie as well as Dharmendra in a cameo role. The movie was a big success at the box office. The film is still regarded as a classic in India today.

Zeenat Aman was beaten a lot by Sanjay Khan
When the actress got to Sanjay Khan’s house she learned that the director and his wife Zarine Katrak were having a good time at the Taj Hotel. But when Zeenat Aman arrived at the Taj hotel and only wanted to discuss dates with Sanjay the latter responded in a way that still gave everyone goosebumps.
Sanjay lost it completely and beat Zeenat inside the hotel room as soon as he learned that she had come into the building to meet him in front of his wife Zarine Katrak. It was the darkest day of Zeenat’s life with him grabbing her by her hair slapping her on the floor and randomly punching her.
Zeenat Aman was being continuously beaten by Sanjay Khan inside the hotel room and neither the staff nor any guests arrived to protect the actress from his fury.
Zarine Katrak came to the room but to everyone’s surprise, she applauded and supported her husband as he brutally beat Zeenat. In addition, Zarine verbally attacked the actress and demanded that Sanjay teach her a lesson she would never forget.
It wasn’t the first time Sanjay Khan had beaten the actress inside the hotel room. But that day was different because he allowed his inner animal to go wild. Sanjay repeatedly slammed Zeenat’s head against the ground while she was being beaten irreversibly harming one of her eyes. Although the medical disease is typically identified in the early years of childhood the actress’s onset of it at such a young age was the result of a severe blow to the head.
Zeenat Aman has not reported her husband Sanjay Khan to the police despite being brutally assaulted by him. She had truly loved him with all of her heart and soul therefore she made the choice to leave him without holding him accountable for his cruel actions.
However, the incident quickly hit the news and Zeenat’s doctor spoke with a publication about it. After the incident entered the headlines Sanjay Khan was the target of several criticisms.
He had then said that Zeenat Aman’s eye condition was a hereditary issue. Zeenat’s mother had strabismus a medical problem that their daughter inherited from her mother the filmmaker had previously said. However, the hotel’s unnamed sources and Zeenat’s close pals were able to confirm that everything reported in the media indeed took place.
The rape incident
Aman Khanna also known as Sarfaraz a businessman was accused of rape in February 2018 by Zeenat Aman.
After allegedly repeatedly raping Aman and stalking harassing and robbing him charges were brought against Khanna who was subsequently imprisoned. According to reports, the instances listed occurred between 2011 and 2016.
She reported Aman Khanna alias Sarfaraz for rape on March 22 2018 to the Juhu police station and he was taken into custody the next day. She claims that between 2011 and 2016 Aman repeatedly violated her took five of her apartments by using forged documents and sold jewellery valued at $15.4 crore.
