About Guy Kitchell
Guy came to the Tank with many surprises, showing off some of his company’s scariest props. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg, as Thrill Builders offers much more than just horror props.
Guy’s company is a one-stop shop for themed facilities and he has owned several businesses in the past. Kitchell’s first business was Klima Deodorant, a deodorant for extreme sweating. No matter the industry, he is passionate about craftsmanship and providing an engaging experience.
This led him to start making creative Halloween props and special effects in 2007. His love for the industry grew until he started designing full-fledged Halloween attractions. In 2015, he hired a team of artists, carpenters, CAD experts and game designers to launch a series of escape room games called Escape in Time.
Founding Thrill Builders
After hiring a diverse group of professionals, Guy Kitchell realized that there weren’t many construction companies that specialized in building escape rooms and haunted houses, so he created a company and named it Thrill Builders.
In addition to the Halloween attractions, they also offer other rides to customers, such as mini golf and laser tag. Their work is only construction, and they do not charge any franchise fees.
Many of their clients are highly profitable, making up to $200,000 per year per escape room. Thrill Builders has worked with brands such as Walt Disney, Universal Studios, National Geographic, and Six Flags. Kitchell delivered a spirited presentation and backed it up with strong sales. This was the first deal the three Sharks had struck in a long time.
After Shark Tank
When the series airs in October 2023, the founders’ website is flooded with inquiries. Considering that this is a high-value product, not many fans are willing to spend $10,000 to $70,000 on an escape room. The deal with the three sharks should be completed within the next three months.
