Pro Kabaddi League team Tamil Thalaivas

The team's brand ambassador is actor Vijay Sethupathi. The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is the home venue for the Tamil Televars.
The team has not had much success since its debut in PKL after finishing last in Zone B in 2017 and 2018-19. In the subsequent seasons of 2019 and 2021-2022, Thalaivas finished 12th and 11th respectively.

Tamil Thalaivas Team Players 2022
Despite a dismal performance in Season 8, Tamil Talawas have retained 8 players after the auction for the 9th season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), showing their confidence in their players. The players who stayed with Talawas include Ajinkya Ashok Pawar in the Elite Players category, Sagar Sahil Gulia Aashish Mohit and Himanshu in the Retained Young Players category (New Existing Young Players category) and Himanshu Singh and M Abishek in the Retained Young Players category. Let's take a quick look at how these guys performed in the last season of PKL. Tamil Talawas players include Pawan Sehrawat Ajinkya Pawar Himanshu Himanshu Singh Narender Sachin K. Abhimanyu Visvanath V Thanushan Laxmamohan Ankit M. Abishek Himanshu Sagar Arpit Saroha Aashish Mohit Sahil Gulia Md. Arif Rabbani.
Ajinkya Pawar
Ajinkya Ashok Pawar's Raiders In 18 games last season, Ajinkya Ashok Pawar scored 108 Raiders points with a strike rate of 51%. In the last season, he scored five Super Tens and one Super Raider. In the eighth season, he added six Raiders points. Pawar's individual performance is significantly better than Tamil Thalaivas' overall performance, which may be the reason why he continues to play in this season.
Sagarrathi
Sagar is a top defender who proved why he is one of the best players on the field. In the last match, he scored 82 interceptions, including 8 High 5s and 8 super interceptions. His interception success rate is also over 50%. So when a raider is at his best, he can't get back into his zone. Tamil Thalaivas made a surprising choice and kept Sagar.
Sahil Gulia
Considering that Gulia played very few games in the last PKL season, Thalaivas' decision to keep him came as a surprise. It was expected that he might go to the auction pool after playing just one game, but since he has been retained, he is likely to get more opportunities in the upcoming season. Thalaivas has retained him in the “New Existing Young Players” category.
Ashish
Aashish's story is very similar to Sahil Gulia's. He played just three matches last season and barely scored any tackles. It is clear that the Tamil Thalaivas want to give him more opportunities in the upcoming PKL season so that he can showcase his defensive prowess.
Mohit
In the previous season, Mohit played in 20 matches and scored 24 tackle points. Although these numbers are not enough to justify keeping him with Tamil Thalaivas, the team may have different ideas. Mohit, who was acquired for Rs 7.98 lakh in the 8th season, has always been categorized as a new existing young player.
Himanshu
Himanshu, who is considered as a defensive player, showed some raiding prowess in the last round. He played 10 matches and scored 38 raiding points, including 1 super raid. Thalaivas decided to keep him in the new existing young player category and he will focus on improving his statistics in the next matches.
Himanshu Singh
In the last round, Himanshu Singh played six matches but managed only 7 raid points. With his raid hit rate of 30%, he continues to be in the list of below average players from last season. Thalaivas was surprised by the decision to keep him. It will be interesting to watch Himanshu in PKL 9 and see how he performs.
Abhishek
M. Abishek is another Thalavian player who played only 7 games in the last season of PKL and lacked opportunities. He only scored 12 points in 7 games. With a dismal performance in Season 8, rookie player Abishek has a lot to show in the upcoming season. He is trusted by the Thalaivas and now he has a chance to repay their trust.
