Even though he was a disciplined vocalist his efforts at the beginning of his career remained unrecognised. He therefore made the decision to take a break from music and travel to the UK and America. After his return he performed the music for numerous well-known Bollywood movies including Taal Biwi No. 1 1947 Earth Daag Jaanwar Dillagi Moksha Tere Naam and Chak De! India and many others.
He has sung seven songs in all for Shah Rukh Khan one of the biggest names in Bollywood as a playback singer. Chak De! India’s title song received a lot of positive reviews.
Sukhwinder Singh also gave playback for actors including Ranbir Kapoor Saif Ali Khan Ajay Devgn and Anil Kapoor.
He had the honour of working with some of the music industry’s titans including Gulzar A. R. Rehman Shankar Ehsaan Loy and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
In order to study music Sukhwinder Singh flew to Leicester in London.
