He is also a member of the jazz fusion band Silk, which also includes bassist Karl Peters, percussionist Shivamani, keyboardist Louis Banks and mridangam player Sridhar Parthasarathy. He was the music director for the Indian TV show School Chale Hum in 2009 and 2012 and was a coach for Zee TV's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge. He was the host judge and captain of the Star Plus music competition Music ka Maha Muqqabala.
