He did not agree with my career decision. He thought I should go into IT. But my heart was set on acting. He accompanied me to my first meeting with Sandeep (director) for Arjun Reddy. It took me almost a week to convince him to let me meet the director and I finally convinced him to let me sign the film as well. She admitted that it was not easy.
But the shoot wasn’t going to be a happy one. As the film took nearly five months to start shooting, Shalini’s father became impatient and started urging her to find a job and not waste her time. Although she never told her father where she was in Mumbai, she did write him an email saying she would not be coming back anytime soon.

In an interview, the lead actor Vijay Devarakonda said that to play the role of Arjun Reddy while shooting for the film, he avoided light-hearted comedy films and wanted to watch dark films.
Although Kabir Singh (2019) was remade in Hindi, the film was still dubbed in Hindi and released on Star Gold on December 15, 2019. Shalini has agreed to play the female lead in Moodar Koodam Naveen's Agni Siragugal, starring Vijay Antony and Arun Vijay. T.Siva, owner and producer of Amma Creations, has filed a fraud case against Shalini Pandey, who allegedly abandoned Agni Siragugal after 27 days of shooting and refused to act in the film again.
Allegedly, after repeated persuasions to the actress, producer Amma Creations T. Siva has filed a criminal case against her and referred the matter to the Tamil and Telugu Film Producers Council.
