Shafali Verma is an Indian cricketer who plays for the Indian women’s national team. In 2019, at the age of 15, she made history by playing in the Indian women’s Twenty20 Internationals. In May 2021, she was selected for the Indian Women’s One-Day International (WODI) and the Test match between India and the England women’s cricket team. Verma scored 159 runs in both innings and was awarded the Man of the Match honours in the Test match which ended in a draw.
Verma made her debut for India in a Women’s One-Day International against England on 27 June 2021. Birmingham Phoenix signed her for the inaugural season of the Centurion.
She played in the 2021 WBBL, scoring her maiden fifty with the Sydney Sixers against the Hobart Hurricanes. She was selected to represent India at the 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand in January 2022. She was selected to represent India in the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England in July 2022.
