The 2018 Indian musical comedy Fanney Khan was directed by first-time filmmaker Atul Manjrekar. Produced under the collaboration of T-Series Films, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra Pictures, Theme Studios, and Anil Kapoor Films & Communication Network, the film stars Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Rajkummar Rao. Newton

Newton, featuring Rajkummar Rao, emerged as one of the most acclaimed films of 2017. Rao portrayed a government clerk tasked with conducting elections in a Chhattisgarh village threatened by Naxalite violence. Initially, the film faced allegations of plagiarism, being compared to the Iranian film Secret Ballot.

Addressing the accusations, the director of Secret Ballot confirmed that Newton was not a plagiarized work after communication with Anurag Kashyap. Amit Masurkar, director of Newton, defended the film by questioning, “If the movie had been a copy, would it have been accepted into international film festivals and won awards?” He claimed ignorance of Secret Ballot, having only seen clips after hearing about the comparisons.

The film later became embroiled in another controversy when a CRPF Sub-Inspector accused it of portraying CRPF personnel negatively. The complaint led to a Delhi court scheduling a hearing to examine pre-summoning evidence on July 19, 2018, as reported by ANI. CRPF Sub-Inspector Tamal Sanyal has suggested that certain scenes should be removed from the movie.

Hit: The First Case

HIT: The First Case, an action thriller directed by Sailesh Kolanu, features Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra in leading roles. This Indian Hindi-language film, produced by T-Series and Dil Raju, is a remake of the 2020 Telugu film of the same name. It was released in theaters on July 15, 2022.

Bheed is co-financed by Sinha’s Banaras Media Works and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series. The film is their third collaboration following 2020’s Thappad and Anek which will be released on May 27.
