The winner of India's Laughter Champion is Rajat Sood. The comedian, also known as the Poetry King, received the trophy and a prize of Rs 25 lakh for blending humour with poetry. In an exclusive interview with India Today, Rajat Sood spoke about his experience shooting for the show.
Most of the news was overly optimistic, Rajat said. I thought I had come this far; I would give it my best. I admit it was a tough competition. Such amazing ability would scare anyone, but I had faith in my belief. I also always believed in giving it my all, and that’s how I was able to make it to the finals and eventually win the prize.
Rajat also said, There are several examples. When I was a hostel student, we used to watch humorous clips from movies like Dhol and Dhamaal. We used to imitate Rajpal Yadav. Rajpal Sir then appeared as a guest in my first episode. He also seemed to like what I did and it was a special moment for me. I invited my parents to watch my shoot during the finals and it was the first time they got to see me perform and learn more about what I do. As a result, I took the prize home. I will always have a special place in my heart for this.
