Lillete Dubey is an Indian actress and theater director. She has worked primarily in Indian and international theatre, television and films in Hindi and English. She has been acclaimed for her stellar performances in films like Zubeida, Monsoon Wedding, Chalte Chalte, Kal Ho Na Ho and many more.
Profession
Dolby began her career in Derry with Barry John and was a founding member of his organisation, Theatre Action Group (TAG). In 1991 she formed her own theatre company, Prime Time Theatre.
Lillete collaborated with Celina Jaitley on a feature-length short film titled “Seasons Greetings.” She has produced short films like “Sonata” and “Purana Pyaar”. Her other works include Qubool hai 2 on Zee5 premium, in which she played Nilofer alongside Karan Singh Grover and Surbhi Jyoti.
Dubey, who entered the film industry by accident in 1995 when her husband was posted to Mumbai, calls herself an accidental film actor. She made her acting debut in the 1999 film Love You Hamesha, starring Akshay Khanna and Sonali Bendre. The film is directed by Kailash Surendranath. In 2000, she played a supporting role in the film Bawandar, directed by Jag Mundra and starring Nandita Das.
