Kunal Singh’s net worth before his death was $5 million. In the last year of his life, he founded the production company Balagiri and started shooting for the film Yogi.
On February 7, 2008, actress Lavina Bhatia found Kunal hanging from the ceiling of his Mumbai apartment. The incident was initially considered a suicide, but Kunal’s father Rajendra Singh expressed concern about the bruises on the body. Bhatia was arrested but later released by the police due to lack of evidence linking her to the death. Police investigations established that no one else was in the apartment at the time of the incident. It was revealed that Kunal had previously attempted suicide by slitting his wrists. Kunal was shooting for a Hindi film titled Yogi through his newly formed production company Balagiri at the time of his death. The case was then referred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and examined by Professor TD Dogra of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, who supported the suicide theory based on the crime scene examination.
