Kangana Ranaut is a famous Bollywood actress in India. Kangana is one of the highest paid actresses in India and has won many awards, including 4 Indian Film Awards and 3 Indian National Film Awards. She has been on the Indian Forbes celebrity list 5 times.

Kangana Ranaut was born on 23 March 1987 in Bampur town in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. She comes from a Rajput family. Her mother Asha Ranaut is a teacher and her father Amardeep Ranaut is a successful businessman. Kangana has an elder sister named Rangoli who is a manager and a younger brother named Akshat. His grandfather Sarju Singh was an active member of the Legislative Assembly and an Indian Administrative Service manager.

Influenced by her parents, Kangana Ranaut initially aspired to become a doctor. To further her career, she settled in Delhi at the age of 16, where she worked as a model for a while. After training as a theatre director, Kangana Ranaut made her debut in 2006 with the film Gangster, for which she won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. She has also been praised for portraying emotionally strong characters in films such as Metro Life, Woh Lamhe and Fashion.

Kangana Ranaut had starred in super hit films like Once Upon a Time in Mumbai and Raaz – The Mystery Continues, though she was judged to have played terrible roles. Her comedy role in Tanu Marries Manu was a huge hit at the Indian box office, and though she subsequently played a string of glamorous roles in a string of films, these roles did not propel her career. She is considered one of the most popular figures in the country by the media and has created her own clothing line for the brand Vero Moda. Kangana is known for expressing her true feelings in public and her complicated relationships have often caused controversy.
