Love Per Square Foot is a 2018 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy film directed by Anand Tiwari and produced by Ronnie Screwvala through his newly formed RSVP Movies production house. Starring Vicky Kaushal and Angira Dhar, the film tells the story of Sanjay and Karina, who are looking for a place to live in Mumbai. They don't have enough money to earn a place on their own, so they marry for convenience.
Anand Tiwari and Sumeet Vyas wrote the script in 2010 and originally planned it to be a dark film, but they eventually decided to make it a romantic comedy. The film was shot in Mumbai from December 2016 to January 2017, with 50 days of shooting and three months of post-production. The background music was composed by Anand Bajpai and the score was composed by Sohail Sen. Avinash Arun was in charge of cinematography and Sanyukta Kaza was in charge of editing.
Initially planning to release it in theatres, Anand Tiwari eventually forwarded the final cut of the film to Netflix India producers, who approved the film’s online release. Thus, it became the first Indian film to be released exclusively on the streaming platform.
Billed as Netflix's first Indian original film, Love Per Square Foot was released directly to the streaming platform on February 14, 2018, Valentine's Day. The film screened at the Beijing International Film Festival in April 2019
