Sridevi’s Family and Education

Sridevi was born on 13 August 1963. Sridevi’s mother is Rajeshwari Yanger. Sridevi’s father is Ayyapan Yanger. Sridevi’s sister is Latha. Sridevi’s step brother is Anand and Satish. I missed out on going to school and living in college but I entered the film industry and worked without a break progressing from child actress to heroine. I was glad there wasn’t any time for thought Sridevi said this once in an Interview.

Sridevi’s Boyfriends

Sridevi and Mithun

When Sridevi married another actor Mithun Chakraborty in the early 1980s they were never open about their relationship. While Mithun was already married to Yogeeta Bali the two had secretly wed in 1985. Yogeeta Bali is said to have tried to commit suicide after learning about the marriage. In an interview Mithun’s first wife had also declared that in that scenario she would accept Sridevi and their union.Since Yogeeta Bali stood by him through thick and thin Mithun Chakraborty chose to stay safe and happy with her rather than the other option leaving Sridevi with a broken heart.

According to rumors their romance grew stronger while they were filming Jaag Utha Insan in 1984. They were extremely close and Boney Kapoor had always been Mithun Chakraborty’s greatest buddy. Boney and Mithun were good friends and the public is also aware that Sridevi and Mona Kapoor Boney’s first wife were close friends. While Sridevi was dating Mithun Chakraborty Mona gave her a place to stay. Up until Mona learned of her ongoing connection with her husband Boney Kapoor the two remained close friends.

Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor

Mona Kapoor was Boney Kapoor’s first wife and she is no longer with us. She was nonetheless Sridevi’s closest friend. Sridevi and Mithun Chakraborty were dating at the time and Boney Kapoor was content with Mona. Mithun though didn’t have many reservations about Sridevi and Boney Kapoor. To persuade Mithun of her own Sridevi tied a rakhi to Boney Kapoor. In an interview Mona Kapoor the first spouse of Boney Kapoor disclosed that Sridevi had linked Rakhi to Boney Kapoor.

The romance between Sridevi and Mithun however was short-lived. When Geeta Bali learned that Mithun and Sridevi were dating Mithun and Sridevi ended their engagement. Mithun was already married to Geeta Bali. Naturally there was no connection between Boney Kapoor and Sridevi when they first met but Mr. India succeeded in bridging that gap. Only after being offered the part in this movie did Boney Kapoor open up to Sridevi about his feelings. Both of them collaborated on numerous films after that. Because Sridevi referred to Boney Kapoor as a brother Boney Kapoor also had no issues with their growing friendship.

However Mona Kapoor was equally as shocked when she learned of Sridevi’s pregnancy. Only subsequently did Mona Kapoor and Boney Kapoor divorce. Sridevi and Boney Kapoor were wed in a temple in 1996.

Sridevi’s Death

To attend her nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding Sridevi and Khushi her youngest child flew to Al Jazirah Al Hamra in Ras Al Khaimah United Arab Emirates on February 20 2018. After the wedding she made the decision to spend a few days in Dubai shopping for her oldest daughter Janhvi’s 21st birthday.  Due to a meeting he had on February 22 her husband Boney Kapoor was not present with them on their wedding day. But when he spoke to his wife on the morning of February 24 and she said Papa (that’s how Sridevi addressed Boney) I’m missing you he had already planned a surprise visit.

Boney claims that he took a flight to Dubai at 15:30 and arrived at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel at 18:20 (Dubai time) where Sridevi was staying in Room 2201. She met Boney and they talked for around thirty minutes. They made the decision to eat dinner after that. Boney waited in the living room while Sridevi took a bath and dressed for dinner. Around 19:00 he called out to her after waiting for 15 to 20 minutes realising that it was getting late.

On February 24 2018 around 19:00 GMT Sridevi’s husband discovered her in her hotel room. She was confirmed dead at the scene. Her brother-in-law Sanjay Kapoor initially told the Indian media that she had suffered a cardiac arrest but after an investigation into her death got underway early on Sunday morning around 2:30 Dubai Police transferred the case to Dubai Public Prosecution where the General Department of Forensic Evidence Dubai revealed that she had actually accidentally drowned.

Sridevi Kapoor’s total net worth including that of her husband was estimated to be around $35 million at the time of her passing in 2018. She had two daughters Jhanvi and Khushi with Boney Kapoor with whom she was married.
