Shashi Kapoor was born as Balbir Raj Prithviraj Kapoor on March 18, 1938 in Calcutta, Bengal Presidency, British India which is now known as Kolkata, West Bengal, India. He comes from the famous Kapoor family which has been in Hindi cinema for quite a long time. He was married to Jennifer Kendal who died of cancer in 1984. Together, the couple has three children named Karan, Sanjana, and Kunal Kapoor.
