Robin Mintz was born in Ranchi. Robin started playing cricket at the age of eight. He started out playing cricket with a wooden bat made of jhalawar. Seeing Robin’s love for cricket, his father decided to train him in Namukum, Ranchi. Robin started his cricket coaching career at Namukum Bazar and then coached at St. Xavier’s School. After that, he trained at Sonet Coaching. Under the guidance of coaches Chanchal Bhattacharya, SP Gautam and Asif Haq, his skills continued to improve.

In the Inter-District Cricket Championship hosted by the Jharkhand Cricket Association, Robin impressed everyone with his explosive batting. He is a master batsman. In 2022, he won a T20 tournament in Odisha with an unbeaten 73 runs from 35 balls.

Robin has been doing well with the bat in the past few years. He scored two consecutive hundreds at Deoghar. Last year, IPL team Delhi Capitals was impressed by Robin’s performance and invited him for a trial. But he failed to become a part of the Delhi team afterwards. After that, five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians picked Robin in a trial for the England tour. He performed very well there. Robin Mintz has been compared to his idol MS Dhoni.

Robin Mintz remained unsold in the 2023 IPL auction. However, he did not give up and continued to work hard. He bore fruit in the mini auction of the 2024 IPL.
