Mrinal Kulkarni is an Indian theatre artist, television and film actor, and film director.
In 1990, she was performing at an inter-school film festival when she was discovered by Marathi film actor and director Gajanan Jagirdar. He invited her to act in the Marathi TV series Swami, which she accepted.
She wanted to pursue a PhD at SNDT Women’s University in Mumbai after graduation. Although she enrolled in the university’s PhD course, she was unable to pursue her degree after appearing in a Marathi serial as she started receiving more and more offers for television serials and films.
