Mouni Roy is an Indian actress who predominantly appears in Hindi-language movies and television shows. With the serial series Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi she launched her career in 2006. 

Mouni Roy’s TV Shows successfully contributed to her rising career. Before becoming more well-known for her role as Sati in Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev (2011). In addition she performed in Zara Nachke Dikha (2008) Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7 (2014) Box Cricket League 2 (2016) and Lip Sing Battle. She also acted in Junoon – Aisi Nafrat Toh Kaisa Ishq (2017).

Mouni Roy dropped out of school midway through her education and relocated to Mumbai to pursue her acting career. In 2006 she had the opportunity to make her acting debut on Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi a well-known Indian television program. She portrayed Krishna Tulsi Eklavya Virani in this drama. She subsequently took part in and won Zara Nachke Dikha’s inaugural season. Then in the television serial Kasturi she played Shivani. She took part in Pati Patni Aur Woh in 2008. The movie Gold follows Tapan Das the athlete who brought India its first gold medal in the same competition as he travels with the country’s first national hockey team to the 1948 Summer Olympics. In celebration of India’s Independence Day Gold had its theatrical debut on August 15 2018 to resounding critical praise. The movie was a huge success earning 158 crore rupees ($20 million) at the box office. Additionally Gold was the first Bollywood movie to be shown in Saudi Arabia.

Romeo Akbar Walter (2019)

Romeo Akbar Walter which also starred John Abraham and Jackie Shroff was Mouni Roy’s first movie to be released in 2019. Reviews of her performance as an R&AW spy were conflicting. According to a Bollywood Hungama review Mouni Roy has a compelling essay to write. She performs admirably yet her character is treated unfairly. The duration of her role was criticised by Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV: Mouni Roy cast as the hero’s cherished comrade comes up here and there in an eminently forgettable character. Romeo Akbar Walter had a poor box office performance.

Robbie Grewal wrote and directed Romeo Akbar Walter an action thriller movie in Hindi that was released in 2019. John Abraham Mouni Roy Jackie Shroff and Sikandar Kher are the film’s stars. The story revolves around a banker who is chosen to be a spy for an undercover mission in Pakistan where he must overcome both physical and psychological obstacles. The movie opened in theatres on April 5 2019.

Made In China (2019)

On the occasion of Diwali Made in China her subsequent film was released. For the movie in which she played a disturbed housewife Roy took Gujarati lessons. Her performance was praised in an India Today review by Vibha Maru as a surprising delivery. Despite having a small part Mouni exudes strength and commands every moment of screen time. Despite opposition from Housefull 4 and Saand Ki Aankh Made in China succeeded on the business front.

The comedy movie Made in China in which Mikhil Musale is the director of was released in 2019 in India. The movie which stars Rajkummar Rao Mouni Roy and Boman Irani and is produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Films tells the tale of a Gujarati businessman (Rao) who travels to China to expand his business opportunities. The movie is based on Parinda Joshi’s novel of the same name.

Bramashtra (2022)

In 2022 Mouni’s most significant project: the superhero trilogy Brahmstra which also stars Ranbir Kapoor  Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan. Ayan Mukherjee is the director and Karan Johar is the producer of the movie. She will portray the film’s major antagonist.

Brahmastra: Shiva Part One The weapon of Brahma also known as the title of the next Hindi-language fantasy adventure film written and produced by Ayan Mukerji in Hindi. It is made by Star Studios in collaboration with Karan Johar Apoorva Mehta Namit Malhotra and Ayan Mukerji (in his first production) as well as Ranbir Kapoor and Marijke deSouza under the production companies Dharma Productions Starlight Pictures and Prime Focus. Amitabh Bachchan Kapoor Alia Bhatt Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni are among its cast members. As the first instalment of a trilogy that will make up the Astraverse the movie is meant to serve that role.

The announcement of Brahmstra was postponed by several years and made in July 2014. Four years from February 2018 to March 2022 were devoted to principal shooting which was shot in Varanasi Varanasi London New York and Bulgaria. The COVID-19 outbreak caused many delays in the film’s production and distribution.

 Since Namit Malhotra and Prime Focus produced the movie their company DNEG handled the VFX work. The movie is slated for release on September 9 2022 by Star Studios in normal 3D and IMAX 3D. Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures will serve as the movie’s international distributor.

Part One – Shiva one of the most costly Indian movies to date was made at an estimated budget of 300 crore (US$38 million). It is the first movie made under the Star Studios banner after Disney purchased 21st Century Fox.

The protagonist of the story is a DJ named Shiva who discovers a remarkable affinity for the element of fire and the ability to awaken the Brahmastra a legendary weapon with the potential to wipe out the entire universe all life and creation. On the other hand the evil powers are also trying to seize control over the Brahmastra.

Brahmastra is released on 9th September 2022 gaining Positive Response from the Audience. The screenplay also features beautiful melodies powerful VFX and Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s chemistry.
