Mandeep rose to fame in 2010 after his impressive performance in the Under-19 World Cup. He is one of the highest scorers for India. He made his first-class debut for Punjab in the 2010-11 season and soon earned a place in the Ranji team. He topped the batting charts in the 50-overs tournament that season and in the 2015-16 Vijay Hazare Trophy, he played seven matches for Punjab and scored 394 runs, which forced the selectors to decide to play him for the national team.

In the second T20 against Zimbabwe, Mandeep scored a brilliant fifty to give India a respectable win by 10 wickets after a surprising loss to the hosts in the first T20. Mandeep’s first-class numbers have never been unexpected, but his biggest enemy has always been consistency.
