Laika Washington has mainly appeared in Tamil and Telugu films. She started out as a sculptor, then became a stage performer in Chennai stage plays and finally became an actress.

Apart from her role as a video jockey in SS Music, Washington’s breakthrough film role was as a strong-willed, independent sister in Jayamkondaan (2008), and her subsequent roles included Vedam and the comedy Va.
