Divya Venkatasubramaniam is known by her stage name Kaniha or Kanika. She is an actress working in South Indian films including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada films. She is mainly known for her role in the Tamil film Five Star.
Apart from acting, she is also an excellent model and performed in the Miss Chennai beauty pageant in 2001. She participated in a beauty pageant and won the title.

Later, she starred in movies. In 2002, Kaniha made her debut with the Tamil film “Five Star”.
Kaniha’s first film was Five Star (2002), produced by Mani Ratnam, with Prasanna, who also made her acting debut . In the film, she plays a traditional country girl who completed the entire project during her summer vacation.
She also entered the Kannada film industry by starring in the Kannada film Annavaru (2004), a remake of Mani Ratnam’s Thalapathi (1991)
Earlier, she acted in the film Varalaru directed again by KS Ravikumar. She shares screen space with Ajith Kumar and Asin in the film. She won praise for her portrayal of a girl suffering from mental illness.
