Sandhu won the Miss Beautiful Skin award in the preliminary round on September 22 and advanced to the finals of Miss Beach Body, Miss Beautiful Smile, Miss Photogenic, and Miss Talent.

Sandhu, one of the top 10 semifinalists of the 2021 Miss Diva competition, spoke during the opening speech session. She is a woman who emerged like a phoenix, from a young girl struggling with mental health, experiencing bullying and body shaming, to discovering her true potential. She went from someone who once questioned her existence to a woman who wants to inspire young people. I am proud to stand before the universe today as a strong, vivacious, and loving woman who is ready to live a meaningful life and leave a lasting legacy. She has been selected in the next round of the competition.

During the final Q&A session, the top five contestants were each given a different topic, which they selected themselves by drawing lots. In response to Sandhu’s choice of “Global Warming and Climate Change,” she said: “Life will fly by you one day; make sure it’s something you want to observe. The environment is deteriorating, the climate is changing, but it’s not life you want to observe. This is one of those environmental disasters caused by humans. I think we still have time to change our careless behavior.”

Sandhu defeated 80 other contenders to become Miss Universe 2021 on December 13, 2021 in Eilat, Israel. She represented India and became the third Indian winner after Sushmita Sen in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000. After the current Miss Universe Andrea Meza announced the win, host Steve Harvey crowned Sandhu as Miss Universe 2021.

As Miss Universe, Sandhu has visited many places including Israel, different cities in the United States, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, South Africa, Colombia, Thailand and her native India.

Court issues notice to Harnaaz for Upasna Singh film

PlayMiss Universe’s Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu and others have received a notice from the Chandigarh District Court in connection with a civil suit filed by Santosh Entertainment Studio through its producer partner Upasana Singh, alleging that Sandhu had breached a contract for the promotion of Punjabi films.

The court of Civil Judge Randeep Kumar has issued a notice (Priority Court). The hearing in the case is now scheduled for September 7, 2022. Singh has sued Sandhu through lawyer Karan Sachdeva, seeking compensation of Rs 1 crore. According to the lawsuit filed in the court on December 13, 2020, Sandhu and the company (Santosh Entertainment Studio) had an artist agreement under which Sandhu was signed to play the lead role in a Punjabi feature film.

The complaint also states that on March 24, 2022, Singh informed Sandhu of the date of the film promotion through WhatsApp and specifically assured her that they were aware of her other obligations and would not take legal action against her based on the contract she signed on the promotion date. But shockingly, Sandhu ignored all her responsibilities related to promoting the film.

Allegedly, the film’s director and investors tried to contact Sandhu through Instagram and shared the film’s poster with her, but she never responded to their messages. On December 13, 2021, Hanaz Sandhu was crowned Miss Universe.
