After graduation, Gaurav Taneja pursued his childhood dream of becoming a pilot. His father was initially against his decision to become a pilot as no one in his family was a pilot. However, he convinced his father to let him pursue his dream of becoming a pilot and go to the United States for training.

In 2009, he returned to India to convert his foreign private pilot license to an Indian private pilot certificate, but due to the severe global recession, he was unable to find work as a pilot.

After failing to find a job as a pilot, Gaurav Taneja accepted a job as a flight instructor with Alpha Aviation Group. He was able to get the job because he had a flight instructor license. Eventually, in 2011, he was hired as a pilot and posted to Bengaluru, where he resumed his fitness routine and started going to the gym. Gaurav Taneja was then posted as a captain in Chennai. He started his career with IndiGo and later moved to AirAsia.

In 2012, Gaurav Taneja went to Delhi to watch a bodybuilding competition where one of his friends participated. He was surprised to see thousands of people cheering for his friend. That’s when he decided to join the bodybuilding competition. A year later in September 2013, Gaurav Taneja won the gold medal in his first bodybuilding competition.

Over the next two years, he competed in numerous professional bodybuilding competitions, winning several gold medals. He did all of this while working as a full-time airline pilot. He also became certified as a personal trainer and nutritionist.
