Dominic Cornell Drakes is a Barbadian cricketer. He represents Barbados in domestic cricket and also plays for the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). In July of the same year, Drakes was selected for the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots squad for the 2020 Caribbean Premier League. On September 15, 2021, in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) Championship, Drakes scored 48 runs off 24 balls to help the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots win their first CPL title. He is sometimes referred to as the man of the match. He replaced Sam Curran, who was injured the following month, in the Chennai Super Kings 2021 Indian Premier League squad.
Drakes was selected to represent the West Indies in a series of Twenty20 Internationals (T20I) matches against Pakistan in November 2021. On December 13, 2021, against Pakistan, he made his Twenty20 International debut for the West Indies.
He was bought by Gujarat Titans at the 2022 Indian Premier League auction held in February 2022. Colombo Stars signed him in July 2022 for the third season of the Sri Lanka Premier League.
Dominic Drakess is the son of former West Indies right-arm fast bowler Vasbert Drakes, who is currently the coach of the West Indies women’s cricket team.
