Indian actress Bala Hijam has worked primarily in Manipuri films. She has also acted in a Malayalam thriller titled “Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi”.
She is considered one of the most popular and successful actresses. She is known for her excellent acting skills and critically acclaimed performances. She has won many awards including the Best Actress Award at the 8th Manipur State Film Festival in 2013 for the film Yaiskulgee Pakhang Angaoba.

At the age of 15, Hijam made her screen debut through the Manipuri film Tellanga Mamei, shot by cinematographer Irom Maipak.
She then made her debut film, Khangdreda Nongdamba, directed by Romi Meitei, in which she played a supporting role alongside Kamala Saikhom.
She also starred in Panthungee Wangmada, directed by Yoimayai Mongsaba. Her performance was well received by the audience.
Among them, she is best known for her roles in movies like Yaiskulgee Pakhang Angaoba, Manipur Express, Meerang Mahum, Amukta Ani, Delhi Mellei, Sanagi Tangbal and many other worth watching movies.
Achievement
Among her many achievements, she received the Special Jury Award from the Film Academy of Manipur (FAM) in 2011. She also won the Best Actor in a Supporting Role Award at the 11th Manipur State Film Awards in 2018 for her role as Langlen in the film Chinglen Sana, among many other awards.
