Their farmer father only allowed his only child to train at the academy and pursue a cricket career.

He is a right-handed medium-length bowler and a right-handed batsman. He plays for the Indian national team as a bowler. He was selected for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League in 2022.

Ashok Sharma was selected for the Rajasthan U19 team in 2019 but did not play any cricket due to the lockdown. Also, he was still recovering from dengue fever when he lost his coach and struggled in the Challenger Cup. Also, he is no longer eligible to represent India at the U19 level. He is a bowler in the Rajasthan Royals squad for 2021 and was selected for the Red Bulls trials.
