Mittal received an invitation from the BBC to attend the prestigious 100 Women Conference in London in 2013. We talked about the pervasive sexism at AIB that she had just learned about, and pledged to support each other in the boys' club.

To respect her space, I started purposely avoiding places where she or anyone in her social circle would go so as not to get mad. I did this just in case.

If I wanted closure on what was happening, she suggested I apologize publicly and gave me two days to respond.
