In the 2020 Indian Premier League, Sunrisers Hyderabad signed him. He made his IPL debut against Delhi Capitals on September 29, 2020. In the 2022 IPL auction, the team decided to keep him in the team.
Abdul Samad made his debut in the IPL auction in 2019 with a base price of Rs 20 lakh, but they could not play any IPL match. Later, he got a chance to make his IPL debut against Delhi Capitals at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi in 2020. In his IPL debut, he also hit a six and a four.
